If You Don’t Like Worms, Keep Your Mouth Shut

If You Don’t Like Worms, Keep Your Mouth Shut

Linda Loegel  has been very busy with her Diversion Press publication, If You Don’t Like Worms, Keep Your Mouth Shut.

She recently had an excellent review by Dennis Moore, a member of the San Diego Writers and Editors’ Guild.   Dennis said of Loegel’s storytelling that you “actually feel you are there yourself in the moment.”

You can view the entire review here:  http://www.sdwriteway.org/book_reviews/worms.htm

Our thanks to Dennis, you can see all of his book reviews for SDWriteaway here:  http://www.sdwriteway.org/book_reviews/1a_reviews_book.htm

In November Linda Linda Loegel was the guest speaker at a meeting of the Diamond Gateway Women’s Organization which took place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at Mt. Carmel Church of the Nazarene, 10060 Carmel Mountain Road, Rancho Penasquitos. She spoke on her two books, Bumps Along the Way and If You Don't Like Worms, Keep Your Mouth Shut (Diversion Press). She signed books after her talk.

On the 13th of December she signed books at the Las Mesa’s Branch of the La Mesa branch of the San Diego Public Library.

This month you can see her book displayed at the Annual Local Author's Exhibit. It will be on display at the library the entire month of February 2012.  Linda attended the reception on February 3.

The two photos above are from the reception.

DIVERSION PRESS ANNOUNCES THIRD POETRY ANTHOLOGY and POETRY CONTEST

DIVERSION PRESS ANNOUNCES THIRD POETRY ANTHOLOGY and POETRY CONTEST

Diversion Press seeks poems for publication in an upcoming anthology.

Our most recent poetry anthology, People Poetry:  For People, By People, and Sometimes About People was published last year.  People Poetry includes over sixty poems by over sixty different poets.

Our other anthology Meanderings: A Collection of Poetic Verse combines the work of an array of first time published and seasoned poets. This collection is for a general readership and includes the winners from the Diversion Press annual poetry contest.

Poems for the new anthology must be for a general readership.  Nothing offensive or vulgar will be published.  Shorter poems will fare better.   Poets will be notified of acceptance by email and will be required to return a release form.  When submitting place a cover letter in the body of the email and attach in a Word Document up to five poems for consideration.   The poems must be typed exactly as you would like them to appear.   There must be a cover letter in the body of the email or the attachments will not be opened or receive a reply.

Contributors who are accepted will not get a free copy, but may purchase a discounted copy.  Buying a copy is not required for publication, in fact you will be notified of acceptance or rejection long before there is an opportunity to purchase the work.

Please visit our website and blog to submit poems, to ask questions, to view our catalog, or to order books.  We are seeking journal and blog reviews of our two published poetry anthologies.  If you are interested please contact us.  Our PDF catalog can be downloaded from our website.

Review of poems will begin on March 1.  Please submit only once, with up to five poems.
